The coat rack comes in pieces but is easy to put together. The pegs/arms come in two different lengths so you can customize if you want a more sculptural look or a more practical setup (long arms on top)The one thing that surprised me was that the rods have a shiny finish while the round caps are a painted wood. I was expecting it to have a consistent finish, but now that I'm used to it, I like it.The base is very heavy so you can load it up on one side (within reason of course) without it tipping over.

This is a great looking coat rack. I ordered it for Christmas for my son and he was very pleased. It looks good with his modern furniture and the black wood caps protect the garments. It's heavy and looks substantial and expensive. Definitely worth the extra money from the ones I saw in local stores.
