We have owned this now for about 2 years and we are looking for another bunk bed for our grandkids. The mechanism that turns the bottom bunk from a couch to a bed bends too easily. We have had to put supports under the bed so the back doesn't slip down in front of the bed supports. This is a very flimsy bed. Even the "C" support has sagged. If you are not going to put anyone over 60# (27kg) it will probably be fine, but 2 friends that weight on a single bed could cause problems.

Even at that price, I consider I wasted my money. Although this bed looks interesting in style, the major flaw is the C-Shape. Because of this C-Shape the lateral section of the bed is significantly reduced. Practically the entire upper bunk is balanced by a permanent torque on the smallest section of the C. As a result, this acts as a spring. With a person weighting around 100 pounds on the top bunk, you can see the bed swinging up/down quite noticeably.Also the cheap mount used to assemble the bed is not rigid enough. The bed also swings laterally (left/right) when the kid uses the ladder at the side (the only way to get to the top bunk).Ironically, when the bed is disassembled, each component looks very sturdy. The flaw is that stupid C-Shape which ruined the whole bed. That was my mistake, I looked at the empty bed and overlooked to test the bed. The designer had created the bed for a show room, not to be used as a bed!I am a handy man. I know how to add extra re-enforcement bars to make it rigid. But the time spent to design the parts is simply not worth it. It would be much more profitable to buy another style of bunk bed. Now that I know this bed, even given for free I won't take it.
I thought it was the best deal on the internet, until they tacked on the shipping charges, which were nearly as much as the bed itself. If I didn't need it yesterday, after seeing the shipping/handling, I would've kept looking....
The product was ordered on December 3, 2010. On December 22rd it had still not arrived and there was no tracking information. I had called and left messages (never anyone there to answer the phone). No return phone calls. I finally got an email address from Amazon and sent an email asking them where was my bed and made it clear I had copied my attorney on the email. That finally got a phone call (late on the 22nd). By the time they actually called, I had waited two additional weeks for the bed and had spent two days on the phone with Amazon (they did not know where my bed was either). I cancelled the order. It had already taken them three weeks and they had indicated 7-10 days. My story is not the worst I read on this company. I would never order anything from this group again. They have no support and no customer service. I am amazed that Amazon continues to do business with them. I understand, from another review, that they do business under several different names (no suprise there). If there was less than one star, I would give it to this company
I had purchased this bed. Not necessary from Amazon but I had owned this same bed. I will only say a few Pros/ConsCons:Black metal is easily to be scratched. Has stickers on top bunk bed.Not made to re-assemble (several times)Pros:Bed has metal supports to allow the mattress to stay in place, same for the top bunk.Permanent side laddersI will ONLY recommend this for light young children.
